About the Plan
The Hutchinson Family Dentistry Dental Discount Plan is a yearly plan.
There is no “waiting period,” no deductible and there is no maximum. There is no insurance approval process and no rejections.
Once you enroll in the Discount Plan and pay the annual fee, you are entitled to one free first visit which includes a cleaning appointment with a hygienist, examination by a Doctor and any necessary x-rays.
For one year you will receive a 20% discount from the fees we charge for any in house services we provide (excluding orthodontics). This includes all services: fillings, crowns, implants, dentures, sealants, root canals and more. There is no maximum, you will receive a 20% on all in house services (excluding orthodontics).

Frequently Asked Questions
What is covered?
Once you enroll in the discount plan and pay the fee, you are entitled to one “free first visit” which consists of: cleaning with the hygienist, examination by the doctor, and whatever x-rays are indicated. For a full year you will receive a 20% discount from the fee we charge for the services that we provide(excluding orthodontics). In order to receive the 20% discount, you must pay for service at (or before) the time of treatment with cash or check. If you pay with debit/credit card or Care Credit the discount amount will only 15%. There is no discount for treatment performed at another office, even if we refer you there.
When does the membership begin/expire?
The membership begins the day it is purchased and expires one year later.
What about families?
Each paid member receives a “free first visit” and the 20% discount is available to all members that are listed on the account. When the account is opened, pay an additional fee of $150 to add on a second patient, and an additional $50 for the third and any additional patient. For example a couple would pay $400 for 1 year of coverage and a family of 4 would pay $500 for a year of coverage. The members listed on the account would receive a 20% discount as long as the member pays for the treatment at (or before) the time of service with cash or check.
Is there a limit to amount of treatment?
The “free first visit” is: Cleaning appointment with the hygienist, dental examination by the doctor and indicated x-rays. There is no limit to the amount of subsequent treatment that you can have done at the 20% discount (excluding orthodontics), there is no waiting period and there is no maximum. The membership is for one year, so there is a time limit for receiving treatment under this plan, but of course you are free to enroll again.
Is there any restriction of appointment times?
There is no special restriction. Appointments may be made for any time that the office is open for treating our clientele.
What if my appointment must be rescheduled?
If you cannot come to your scheduled appointment for your “free first visit,” please let us know as much in advance as possible so that the hygienist’s time is not wasted. If you can make sure that we know 24 hours ahead, then we will gladly reschedule your “free first visit.” If we receive less than 24 hours notice, that will be considered your “free first visit.”
What happens if I forget my appointment?
If your appointment time comes and goes and we have not heard from you, we call that a failed appointment. That would use up your “free first visit.” We would be happy to see you with your 20% discount for another visit.
How does this integrate with other insurance plans?
This discount plan is designed for individuals who do not have other dental insurance. This is a prepaid discount plan, not a form of insurance. It does not apply to co-payments with dental insurance plans.
How can I pay for my membership and fees?
You can pay with Cash or Check to get the full benefit of a 20% discount. If you pay by Credit/Debit Cards the discount amount will drop to 15% because of the fees charged by Credit Card Merchant. Care Credit can also be used and is a special form of credit card account that provides extended payment options for health related services. Care Credit may be used to pay for the membership. If Care Credit is used to pay for treatment, then there will be 15% discount rather than 20%, because Care Credit already has more than a 5% service charge built into it.
What if I can’t pay at the time of service?
If you cannot pay at or before the time of treatment, then no discount will be given. The 20% discount becomes available for subsequent visits when the account is paid in full. The 20% discount is available only when you pay with cash or check. If extended payment plans are necessary, you might look in to opening a “Care Credit” account.
Will other dental offices accept this discount?
No. This applies only to Hutchinson Family Dentistry.
What about referrals to other providers?
This is a discount plan for this practice only. It applies to all of the services that we provide, but there is no discount for outside providers. There are several procedures that are often referred to outside specialists. Some of these procedures are occasionally performed in this practice, in which case the discount would apply, but the doctors of Hutchinson Family Dentistry maintain the authority to refer for treatment elsewhere when they believe the situation warrants. This is particularly true for referrals for Oral surgery, Orthodontics, Pediatric dentistry, Periodontal treatment, and Endodontic treatment.
What about new patient exam and full set of x-rays?
The “free first visit” may include a “New Patient Comprehensive Examination” if that is appropriate, and whatever x-rays are indicated.
What about emergency treatment?
The “free first visit” is for an appointment with the hygienist. If you have a toothache, or need some treatment, the 20% discount applies to any treatment that we do for you here at Hutchinson Family Dentistry. An emergency visit is not your “free first visit.”
What about Periodontal maintenance?
A “free first visit” is provided with the membership in the prepaid plan. If you are on a periodontal maintenance program, then your maintenance could be done at your “free first visit” along with appropriate examination and x-rays. Subsequent visits will be given a 20% discount.
What about next year?
When your membership year comes to a close, you may do it again. You will receive another “free first visit” and all of the same rules apply. We plan to continue this offer. We may opt to change the program, or discontinue it in the future solely at our own discretion. We will always honor an agreement that we have in place for the defined period of time.
